As a Registered Nurse with Rushcliffe Care Group, you will be part of the clinical team responsible for delivering safe, effective, person-centred care. This advert is open to both newly qualified nurses and experienced nurses. The role offered, and rate of pay, will depend on your registration, experience, competence, and suitability for the needs of the service.

About Rushcliffe Care Group

You will be joining Rushcliffe Care, a company with over 35 years of experience in offering the highest levels of care to our most vulnerable in society. Across our services, we support people to live safer, more fulfilling lives, with dignity, choice, and consistency at the centre of everything we do.

Our work is guided by clear values. These are not slogans. They shape how we treat people, how we work together, and what we expect from each other.

We employ over 1,300 staff across our network of care homes, independent hospitals, and specialist support services. Our portfolio includes mental health rehabilitation hospitals, nursing and dementia care homes, services for people with learning disabilities, and a neuro-rehabilitation unit for people recovering from brain injury. We also operate a specialist independent school for children and young people with autism.

About Mill Lodge

Mill Lodge Hospital is a 32 bed hospital providing specialist mental health care services on behalf of the NHS. Our patients range from 18 years through to older age people.

We support all patients with a range of conditions including:

· depression

· mental illnesses such as schizophrenia

· personality disorder

· learning disability

· addictions

We use a ‘recovery’ approach to tailor care to each individual to help them achieve their maximum potential.

We value all contribution and support that family and carers provide. We feel it is essential, with a patient’s agreement, to include carers throughout the recovery pathway, for example when planning care and conducting risk assessments.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will support the delivery of high-quality clinical care within a structured and person-centred environment. You will work as part of the nursing and multidisciplinary team, supporting service users with their physical health, mental health, behavioural needs, clinical care and daily wellbeing.

For newly qualified nurses, the role will include support through preceptorship, with supervision from an experienced nurse preceptor while you develop confidence, clinical competence and leadership skills.

For experienced nurses, the role will include a greater focus on shift leadership, clinical decision-making, staff support, audits, observations of practice and contributing to effective care governance within the service.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering safe, effective and person-centred nursing care.
  • Completing assessments, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
  • Administering and managing medication safely and in line with policy.
  • Monitoring service users’ health, including observations, NEWS2 and signs of deterioration.
  • Maintaining accurate, clear and timely records of care.
  • Supporting service users with dignity, compassion and respect.
  • Working closely with families, colleagues and external professionals.
  • Supporting safeguarding, infection prevention and health and safety standards.
  • Contributing to audits, governance, incident reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Supporting the effective organisation of the shift and safe allocation of staff.
  • Maintaining your own professional development and NMC revalidation requirements.

What Our Values Mean in Practice

Reputable Care

  • Delivering safe, consistent and evidence-based nursing care.
  • Maintaining professional standards in line with the NMC Code.
  • Taking responsibility for accurate records, safe medication practice and clear clinical judgement.

Respect and Compassion

  • Treating every service user with dignity, patience and understanding.
  • Supporting people as individuals, taking account of their choices, needs and communication preferences.
  • Working in a way that promotes independence and wellbeing.

Robust Communication

  • Communicating clearly with service users, colleagues, relatives and external professionals.
  • Escalating concerns promptly where there are changes in health, risk or presentation.
  • Recording and sharing information accurately to support safe care.

Real Commitment

  • Being reliable, professional and accountable in your role.
  • Maintaining your clinical skills and engaging with training, supervision and revalidation.
  • Supporting the wider team to deliver consistent standards of care.

What You’ll Need

  • Current NMC registration as an RMN, RN or RNLD.
  • For newly qualified applicants, completion of a nursing degree and active NMC PIN.
  • For experienced nurse applicants, at least 18 months’ NMC registration is expected.
  • A clear understanding of professional accountability under the NMC Code.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to safe, person-centred care.
  • Confidence in medication management, care planning and clinical record keeping.
  • Willingness to complete mandatory training and maintain clinical competence.

What We Offer

  • A supportive service environment with clear clinical expectations.
  • Preceptorship support for newly qualified nurses.
  • Opportunities to develop clinical confidence, leadership skills and professional practice.
  • The opportunity to work within an established service supporting adults with mental health needs and/or learning disabilities.
  • Ongoing training, supervision and development in line with the role.

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which is covered by Rushcliffe Care.

Employment decisions are based on individual merit, qualifications, and the needs of the service. To support our commitment to equal opportunities, we may collect diversity data as part of the application process.
