As Senior Information Governance Manager and Data Protection Officer, you will provide expert leadership on all aspects of information governance, data protection and information sharing, ensuring the organisation meets its statutory, regulatory and NHS obligations. Working closely with Board members, executive leaders, GP practices and system partners, you will influence strategic decision-making, support digital transformation and help foster a culture where information is managed responsibly, securely and ethically. You will lead the Information Governance function and act as the Data Protection Officer for the ICB and participating GP Practices. The role includes overseeing compliance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, NHS information governance standards and the Data Security and Protection Toolkit. You will provide expert advice on complex information governance, confidentiality and data protection matters, whilst leading the management of information risks, incidents, data protection impact assessments and information-sharing arrangements. The postholder will develop and implement information governance strategy, manage and develop staff, provide assurance to senior leaders and committees, and work collaboratively with partners across the Integrated Care System to support safe, lawful and effective use of information

The Shropshire Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) is responsible for planning functions; managing the NHS budget and arranging the provision of health services in the geographical area.

Location: Home based/hybrid working.

New starters are expected to collect IT equipment, from offices in Stoke-on-Trent, and if working from home are required to have appropriate desk/chair/ relevant equipment in compliance with DSE regulations.

Posts at Band 8c and above, will take part in the On-call rota, flexible over 7 days, supporting the System Control Centre, with full training provided.

The postholder will provide strategic leadership for all information governance activities across the organisation, acting as the designated Data Protection Officer and senior subject matter expert. Responsibilities include developing and implementing information governance strategy; ensuring compliance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, Caldicott Principles and NHS standards; leading completion of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit; managing information governance risks and assurance processes; overseeing data protection impact assessments, information sharing agreements and records management arrangements; leading investigations into information incidents and data breaches; and providing expert advice to senior leaders, boards and system partners. The role will also lead the development of a positive information governance culture through training, awareness programmes and stakeholder engagement, whilst supporting major digital, transformation and data-sharing initiatives across the Integrated Care System .
