Full job description

About the Role

As a Field Service Technician at Miele Professional, you will service and repair a wide range of commercial appliances across multiple customer environments, including industrial laundries, laboratories, hospitals and medical facilities. From industrial washing machines and tumble dryers to specialist laboratory equipment washers, every day offers something different.

Working across the Southampton or Salisbury area (we are open to applicants from both of these areas), you will represent a globally recognised premium brand while delivering exceptional customer service and technical expertise. Some travel outside your local area, occasional overnight stays and out-of-hours work may be required, so flexibility is important.

At Miele, we strive to make our workplace and culture as future proof as our world-renowned products. Join a business that has continued to evolve since 1899 and help us live our philosophy of being “Immer Besser” - forever better.

Your Responsibilities

  • In close collaboration with customers and internal departments, carry out fault diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repairs on professional laundry and washer disinfector appliances to a high technical standard
  • In line with health, safety and gas safe regulations, complete the installation and decommissioning of professional appliances across commercial and medical environments
  • Through every customer interaction, contribute to an exceptional service experience while always representing the Miele brand professionally
  • In partnership with planners, managers and service partners, maintain clear communication to support efficient service delivery and resolve technical issues effectively
  • By maintaining accurate van stock, spare parts control and daily administration, support strong first-time fix rates and operational efficiency
  • Through customer engagement and product knowledge, promote Miele care products, accessories, service contracts and planned maintenance solutions
  • By actively participating in technical training and development, maintain up-to-date knowledge of Miele products, systems and diagnostic processes while working towards performance targets and key performance indicators

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, including the ability to repair and maintain professional electrical and gas appliances using relevant test equipment
  • Proven experience working within a field service or technical customer service environment while delivering high standards of customer support
  • Sound technical knowledge of UK power supplies, wiring components and appliance systems, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues effectively
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage workload independently and build positive customer relationships
  • A proactive approach to learning and development, including maintaining up-to-date product knowledge and completing technical training programmes

What We Offer

  • A salary of up to £42,024 per annum with on-target earnings potential of up to £50,478, plus a competitive benefits package
  • Extensive discounts on Miele products for yourself, family and friends
  • Discounted gym membership and a daily lunch allowance
  • Extensive health cash plan and free eye tests
  • Additional benefits including financial advice, recognition schemes and more

Additional Information

This is a full-time permanent position covering the Southampton or Salisbury area. We are looking for candidates who live in or near these two locations.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and remain committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.
