At STERIS Instrument Processing we are believed experts in surgical instrument sterilisation. We offer on and offsite re-processing, alongside reliable instrument maintenance solutions. We are currently recruiting for a Sterile Services Technician vacancy. This is an excellent opportunity to join the business at an entry-level and receive world-class training to get you on to a defined career pathway.


About You

Working Pattern

12 weeks of full-time training on Monday-Friday at 8:00-16:00

This is Zero hours contract position

What's involved

  • Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, instruments, and equipment) by the process of decontamination, inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
  • Rigorously checking, washing, laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
  • Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively.
  • Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
  • Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust’s appointed person.

Required Experience

  • Educated to a good general standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.
  • Basic end user IT skills to operate track and traceability IT system.

Preferred Experience

  • TVQ or NVQ Level 2 in Decontamination or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in Sterile Services and/or health related products.
