Regional Nursery Manager

£60,000 per year | 36 hours per week | Perth, Fife and Glasgow

We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Regional Nursery Manager to support 8 nurseries across Scotland. This is a senior role working directly with the Director, with real autonomy and responsibility for standards, performance, finances and growth across the group.

We already have an experienced Area Manager. You will work alongside them where needed, but this is predominantly an independent role.

The role

  • Support, develop and challenge Nursery Managers and their teams
  • Visit and review nurseries regularly across all 3 areas
  • Monitor occupancy, staffing, quality and financial performance
  • Oversee nursery finances, including fee income, arrears, budgets and cost control
  • Manage utility bills, supplier contracts and overheads, ensuring they are checked, paid on time and reviewed for value
  • Lead on recruitment, retention and staff development
  • Ensure high standards of childcare, safeguarding and compliance
  • Support managers through Care Inspectorate inspections
  • Review and improve policies, procedures and operational standards
  • Identify problems early, put solutions in place and see them through
  • Work with the Director on strategic and operational projects

Essential requirements

  • A relevant degree in Early Years, Childhood Practice, Education, Childcare or a related subject
  • A minimum of 5 years' management experience in the childcare sector
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between nurseries
  • Strong knowledge of Scottish childcare regulations and Care Inspectorate requirements
  • Proven experience leading and developing childcare teams
  • Confidence working with numbers, budgets and financial information
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of decisions

Desirable

  • Experience managing multiple settings or senior nursery managers
  • Experience managing nursery budgets, supplier contracts and utilities
  • Strong IT skills and confidence with digital systems
  • Interest or experience in AI, social media or digital marketing

Who we're looking for

An experienced Nursery Manager ready for the next step, or an existing Area or Regional Manager. You are confident, commercially aware and able to make decisions without constant direction. You are comfortable challenging existing ways of working, embracing new technology and building strong relationships with managers and their teams.

About the group

Alongside our nurseries, the group also operates a childcare training platform and an apprenticeship training provider serving nurseries across Scotland. While this role is focused on the nurseries, there will be opportunities to contribute ideas and experience across the wider group.
