About The Role

Please note this position does not offer any home working.

Here at Practice Plus Group, we have an excellent opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Advisor and build on your Nursing or Paramedic experience and continue to deliver outstanding patient care – without the physical demand of acute work.

You`ll receive:

  • Pay: £24.47 per hour (7am-11pm) and £27.83 per hour (11pm-7am), with further pay enhancements of £30.60 per hour when working between Friday 18:00 to Monday 7:00am. Please note that the weekend rate is guaranteed but it is not contractual, it is just an incentive for working unsociable hours
  • Any training hours will be paid at £24.47 per hour
  • 25 days’ annual leave, increasing with service up to 28 days per year + bank holidays.
  • Guaranteed regular breaks
  • Practice Plus Group benefits including company pension scheme, life assurance, cycle to work scheme, retail discounts, and an employee assistance programme for you and your family.

What you'll be doing

What your typical day looks like

  • You will be required to speak with patients and providing them with telephone triage using the NHS Pathways systems.
  • Use of your clinical knowledge will be key in order to make decisions on the most appropriate action to take as well as homecare advice to callers.
  • In 111 we get calls about anything and everything, hence no two-days will be the same. However, you will receive a lot of support from the software systems.
  • We offer set shift patterns so you`ll always know when you`ll be working

You`ll be trained on NHS Pathways systems, a recognisable licence that you`ll receive on completion of training.

Schedule:
Full-Time: Monday-Friday (9:30am-5pm) for 4 weeks + 1 additional day to complete internal training on LMS
  • It is essential that you attend training every day.
  • You will undergo assessments and call audits throughout training. Passing these is essential to continue with the role. Failure to pass on your second attempt will result in no longer being able to continue with the role.
  • After training, you will receive ongoing support to ensure you’re ready to be signed off as a fully accredited Pathways Health Advisor.

What we’ll look for in you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Significant post registration training/consolidation and experience
  • 2 years recent experience in adult acute or primary/community care
  • Strong understanding of patient management in primary or secondary care
  • Triage/telephone advice experience
  • Clinical decision making capabilities ability to demonstrate critical thinking
  • Experience of working independently

We are looking for:

  • UK Registered Nurse (NMC) or Paramedic (HCPC) with appropriate post-registration acute Primary Care experience.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, with good IT and keyboard skills.
