Full job description

NW Recruitment is seeking experienced Healthcare Assistants with theatre experience to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in busy theatre departments, supporting clinical teams in delivering high-quality patient care.

  • Assist in preparing theatre areas before and after surgical procedures.
  • Support patients before and after surgery, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Assist registered nurses and theatre practitioners with patient care.
  • Prepare and restock theatre equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention.
  • Safely transfer and position patients using appropriate moving and handling techniques.
  • Monitor and report any changes in a patient's condition to the nursing team.
  • Accurately complete documentation in line with hospital policies.
  • Adhere to all health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding procedures.

Essential

  • Minimum 6 months' recent experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a theatre setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A caring, compassionate, and professional approach.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Current Manual Handling and Basic Life Support training.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and theatre protocols.
