Indeed for Employers

How is Indeed different from other places where I can post jobs?

Indeed is both a job search engine and an all-in-one hiring platform. Beyond jobs posted directly by employers, Indeed also aggregates job listings from thousands of sources across the internet, including job boards, companies’ careers websites, local news sites and recruitment agencies. Employers can post jobs directly on Indeed for additional features, including Screening Questions, virtual interviews and more.

Take a look at our article, How to post a job on Indeed: employer guide, for more information about how Indeed works.

You’ll also get access to Hiring Insights, which includes data on salary, top search terms, competitive landscape data and more to help ensure your jobs are competitive.

Where do jobseekers go after clicking on my job posting?

When someone clicks on your job posting on Indeed, they’ll be able to see the full job description and a button to apply. Applicants can then upload their CV if they’re interested in the role.

Which applicant tracking systems work with Indeed?

Many employers use applicant tracking systems (ATS) to manage online recruitment. For a full list of applicant tracking systems integrated with Indeed, visit our ATS integrations page.

If you don’t have an ATS, Indeed has technology available at no additional charge that will enable you to track applicants when advertising on our site. You can manage all candidates who apply within your Employer Dashboard. In your dashboard, you can review applications and schedule interviews. This dashboard is available for all employers who post jobs directly on Indeed.

Is it free to post a job on Indeed?

Free Job Post Policy

To ensure our matching and hiring platform remains a fair and balanced marketplace, employers posting jobs directly on Indeed can post up to three free jobs per calendar month, each staying live for up to 30 days. When you reach these monthly limits, you can then choose to sponsor additional jobs or extend the visibility of existing posts by sponsoring them, enhancing reach and connecting you with qualified candidates more efficiently.

Terms, conditions, quality standards, and usage limits apply

How will I know when I’ve reached my free job post limit?

You will be notified during the job posting process, indicating when you’ve reached your monthly free job posting limit.

Can I post more jobs after reaching my monthly free job post limit?

Yes. You can continue posting by sponsoring your jobs to increase job visibility and attract more candidates.

Does the free job post limit only apply to jobs posted directly on Indeed?

Yes, this limit only applies to free jobs posted directly on Indeed.

What jobs does this free job post limit affect?

This free job post limit applies to jobs posted directly on Indeed in the US, Canada, the UK, Germany and the Netherlands, by employers worldwide.

How long will my free job posts stay visible on Indeed?

All free job posts will be visible for up to 30 days from the day they are posted in all countries Indeed operates in, excluding Japan. Job posts automatically pause after 30 days. You will be notified when this happens and can choose to sponsor your job at that point.

Sponsored Jobs

What are Sponsored Jobs?

Sponsored Jobs are paid listings that help your open roles stand out on Indeed. These jobs get premium placement in jobseeker search results, giving them greater visibility than free listings. And visibility matters – employers who sponsor their jobs are more likely to hire a candidate.

Indeed offers two levels of Sponsored Jobs to meet your recruitment needs:

  • Standard Sponsored Jobs promote your job post so it’s shown to active jobseekers in search results and Job Alerts, and they offer the option of sending automated messages to engage top candidates at key moments in the recruitment process.
  • Premium Sponsored Jobs proactively match candidates to your job that you can invite to apply. You can also add attention-grabbing visuals, like your company logo and images, to draw attention to your job post and drive interested jobseekers to apply straight away by showing an Urgently needed label to indicate you’re already actively reviewing candidates.

When should I sponsor my job?

Sponsoring could be especially helpful when:

  • You need to fill a role quickly
  • You’re looking to fill a competitive or hard-to-fill position
  • You want more visibility in a location with fewer qualified candidates

Sponsored Jobs keep your post visible longer and help connect you with more relevant applicants faster.

How do I sponsor my jobs?

To sponsor a job, start by posting it directly on Indeed. Once you add the job details, you’ll receive a recommended budget based on your job title and location.

You can upgrade to a Sponsored Job at any time through your Employer Dashboard by selecting ‘Sponsor Job’ next to your listing. Sponsored Jobs can also be managed through select ATSs or directly from your career site if you have an integration in place. Post your job to get started.

How many jobs should I sponsor?

This depends on your recruitment goals, the roles you’re looking to fill and your overall budget. If you’re recruiting for multiple roles or across different locations, consider sponsoring several jobs to help boost visibility where you need it most.

Indeed can help prioritise which jobs to sponsor based on market competitiveness and candidate demand.

How do I know where my Sponsored Jobs will appear?

When jobseekers search on Indeed, they enter keywords related to their skills, interests and preferred locations. Sponsored Jobs are matched to those searches and appear prominently in the search results.

Unlike free listings, Sponsored Jobs stay visible for as long as they’re sponsored, helping ensure your job reaches more qualified candidates.

How can I measure the results of sponsoring my job on Indeed?

With Indeed Analytics, you’ll get access to detailed performance insights for your Sponsored Jobs, including:

  • Impressions, clicks and applications
  • Cost per click (CPC)
  • Total spend and application rate
  • Which applications came from Premium Sponsored Jobs

If you’re using Premium Sponsored Jobs, you’ll also get access to reporting, which shows engagement metrics from proactively matched candidates.

These metrics help you understand your return on investment and make more informed decisions for future recruitment campaigns.

Screener Questions

What are Screener Questions?

Screener Questions help you quickly find out whether or not an applicant meets your criteria upfront. When you post a job on Indeed, we’ll recommend pre-made screening questions to choose from based on your job title. You can also create your own custom questions.

Examples of screening questions include:

  • How many years of experience do you have in XYZ?
  • Have you completed your GCSEs?
  • Do you have a valid [licence type]?
  • What percentage of the time are you willing to travel for work?

Candidates must answer your chosen Screener Questions as part of the application process. As you start to receive applications, you can prioritise applicants as you go, filtering your list to identify those that meet your minimum requirements.

Jobs with Screener Questions are 50% more likely to result in hiring a candidate.[1]

How do I add Screener Questions to my job post?

When you post a job on Indeed, the Applicant Qualifications page will show you a list of pre-made questions, or you can make your own. You can use a variety of question formats, such as:

  • Yes or no
  • Short answer
  • Multiple choice
  • Date or number
  • Request for file upload

After you’ve selected the questions you’d like applicants to answer, you can mark them as must-haves. If you mark any Screener Questions as ‘deal-breakers’, applicants who answered in a way that did not meet your requirements are automatically deprioritised and placed in your ‘Rejected’ tab. You can review these applicants at any time and move them to ‘Reviewed’ instead.

Are there any Screener Questions I’m not allowed to ask candidates?

Do not ask questions that are discriminatory or illegal, personally invasive or otherwise violate the Indeed Site Rules.

If you post your jobs on Indeed directly, your posts automatically include Indeed Apply. Indeed Apply allows you to get applications from mobile jobseekers even if your career website isn’t mobile-enabled.

If you are using Indeed Apply with an ATS that integrates with Indeed, the completed application will appear in your ATS as usual. If you aren’t currently using an ATS, you can post your job directly on Indeed.

Employers who accept mobile applications receive up to 6 times as many applicants.[4]

Indeed Company Pages

What is an Indeed Company Page?

On Indeed Company Pages, current and past employees can leave ratings and reviews and respond to a survey about what it’s like to work at your company. People who follow your Company Page will also get updates on new content and jobs as they become available, increasing engagement with your employer brand. Indeed Company Pages include more than 500+ million ratings and reviews.

Claim your Indeed Company Page to start telling your story, and encourage employees to add reviews.

Why should I claim my Company Page?

On average, jobseekers who visit your Indeed Company Page are 3.5 times more likely to apply to your jobs at that company.[5]

Claiming your Company Page can attract potential new employees to your jobs. After claiming your Company Page, encourage employees to write reviews describing their experience as an employee at your business. The feedback ratings from reviews will appear with search results on organic and Sponsored Jobs, encouraging jobseekers to find out more about your job opportunities and culture.

What is the difference between Indeed Company Pages and Indeed Company Pages Premium?

Indeed Company Pages is free for all employers and comes with basic branding options. Indeed Company Pages Premium gives you access to more advanced branding and analytics (e.g. videos and images, branded job postings, and the ability to filter employee reviews and ratings). Employers can tell their story to 4 times more jobseekers with Indeed Company Pages Premium.[6]

How do I claim my Company Page?

If you have an employer account and have posted a job on Indeed, your Company Page will automatically be claimed and tied to your account. You can then start editing and customising your page to start building your employer brand.

If you don’t have an employer account on Indeed, you can claim your free Company Page by taking the following steps:

  1. Go to https://uk.indeed.com/companies and search for your company name
  2. Find your Company Page in the search results and click on it
  3. Within your Company Page, click the Why Join Us tab next to the Snapshot tab
  4. On the right-hand side of your page, click ‘Claim this Company Page’
  5. Click ‘Claim’ on the following page

Who can edit my Company Page?

Once you claim your Company Page, you can customise your profile with a logo, company description, location, industry, and links to your website and social profiles. If you want to claim a Company Page that has already been claimed, contact us.

Can I edit content in the reviews or forum sections?

Reviews are open forums and cannot be edited or moderated by the employer. We only remove a review if requested by the review author or if the review clearly violates our Content Guidelines. We encourage companies to engage reviewers by posting a comment directly on the review. Asking current and former employees to leave reviews is also an effective way to build a positive employer brand on Indeed.

What jobs appear on my Company Page?

Your Company Page will show all of your jobs currently listed on Indeed that meet quality guidelines.

Featured Employer

What is a Featured Employer?

Becoming a Featured Employer maximises exposure of your company brand and jobs to your ideal candidates.

How do I become a Featured Employer?

Featured Employer is not something you can sign up for. Instead, it’s awarded by Indeed based on factors like the number of open jobs at your company and how much you spend.

The Featured Employer programme may be changed or removed by Indeed at any time, at Indeed’s sole discretion. Get in touch with your Indeed Account Executive to learn more about the spending criteria to qualify for Featured Employer, or contact our support team.

What is included with Featured Employer status?

When you’re a Featured Employer, your Sponsored Job shows up on the Indeed search results page with your company logo, which makes it easier for jobseekers to recognise your company. In fact, mobile jobs with a Featured Employer logo have a 17% higher started application rate.[7]

How much does Featured Employer cost?

Becoming a Featured Employer requires meeting a minimum monthly spending amount based on the number of jobs you have posted on Indeed.
