Responsibilities

• The post-holder will manage three analysts/apprentice in the Business Intelligence and Performance team, and matrix working with an IT business analyst to support coherent cross-council system development for performance data collection.
• The post-holder will be part of the Policy, Partnerships and Performance team and may be required to provide cover in the absence of other officers.
• The post-holder will provide support for cross-cutting council business intelligence and performance data where they will provide matrix working with officers within the division who are drawn from different disciplines.

You will be required to work Monday-Friday (9:00-5:00pm). This is based on a 6 month contract and the pay negotiable.

Position

The successful candidate will be the key driver within this area helping users transition from current reporting methods to an improved and more flexible reporting methodology. The role will require someone who has a good overall knowledge of SQL and database management, at least some working experience with a professional business intelligence platform or from within an analytical side of a corporate type of business. The person must also be happy to work on projects from conception to conclusion and to communicate and assist end users where required.

The IT department at IMO is made up of a small team, therefore, the successful candidate will also need to offer front-line support to users both for reporting purposes and general IT support. Therefore, general knowledge of IT maintenance and AWS services will be required.

Job role overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Corporate Services department for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the team.

The successful candidate will become a key member of the Business Intelligence team who are striving for APM to be driven forward with business intelligence and looking to create exceptional value for our members and our customers. The Business Intelligence Analyst will effectively manage a variety of processes and tools that analyse business information from different sources and transform it into actionable insights that inform strategic and tactical decisions.

This role will involve analysing membership data, financial information, operational performance and industry trends to support strategic planning, identify opportunities, optimise operations, enhance customer satisfaction, and gain competitive advantage, while supporting an organisation-wide adherence to data governance.

We’re looking for someone who is a natural analytical thinker, is self-motivated and pro-active, has great attention to detail, is customer focussed and enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
