Example 1

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Respiratory Physiologist to join our small but busy team, working across site at Central Middlesex Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital and Ealing Hospital. You will be required to undertake and interpret a range of Respiratory and Sleep investigations which include full lung function testing, overnight oximetry, polygraphy studies and oxygen assessments. Knowledge of Cardio-pulmonary Exercise Testing would be an advantage. You would be a lone worker at times and therefore expected to be able work independently. You would need to be flexible in managing your workload, dividing your time effectively between clinical and administrative The post is based at Central Middlesex Hospital with some cross site work at Northwick Park Hospital and Ealing Hospital. You would need to be flexible and be prepared to work across sites on a routine basis, and also to cover annual leave. Continuous professional development is encouraged and you will have opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge. You should have experience at a Band 5 level and be eligible for RCCP registration.

An opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Respiratory Physiologists to join our friendly team in the Pulmonary Function Laboratory at University Hospital Southampton. This post is offered on a full time permanent basis. This busy department provides a range of lung function investigations. These include spirometry, gas transfer, body plethysmography, reversibility, methacholine challenge and overnight oximetry assessment. You will work closely with a variety of key stakeholders and build working relationships with many roles within the respiratory team such as respiratory physiologists, respiratory consultants and registrars. An exciting new position is available for an enthusiastic Senior Respiratory Physiologist at the Children’s Lung Function and Sleep Service (Royal London Children’s Hospital). Our service engages in both clinical and research activity as we have close links with Queen Mary University of London. We provide secondary and tertiary paediatric respiratory services to the Hospitals of Barts Health NHS Trust. We are part of the paediatric respiratory service which employs a multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of childhood respiratory disorders. The post is a senior role and the post holder should have excellent communication skills to work as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team (doctors, CNS’s, ward nurses, dieticians, physiotherapists, psychologists and scientists). The post holder will also need to support the team with performing full respiratory function testing, both basic and advanced, reporting sleep studies and NIV. The service is accredited as an STP and HSST training centre and so the post holder will be the training officer for these students. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a drive for improvement and an ability to maintain high standards both for themselves and others. The successful candidate will have proven experience of sleep and lung function in children, be able to work independently, participate in meetings, seminars and videos conferences to develop your understanding of childhood respiratory and sleep physiology and contribute to the meetings by presenting and discussing results. You will be supported to attend conferences especially if presenting current research.
