Example 1

Joining our friendly and hardworking family run business as a Customer Sales Assistant, you’ll be on the front line dealing with our customers that come into our premises; playing a vital role in our continued success, providing a first class service whilst keeping colleagues and customers safe at all times.

What will I be doing?

  • Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it’s essential that you can help deliver the highest standards of service - the key thing is to be helpful and friendly.
  • Your focus will be with the day-to-day sales activity; dealing with customer calls both in person and over the phone, pricing enquiries and taking orders.
  • You’ll handle requests from our customers; providing information on our products and helping each customer with their purchase. Taking our sales ethos from good to great.
  • You'll also be responsible for ensuring the safe and correct movement of our products around the premises, maintaining stock levels and assisting with ordering.

What experience do you need?

Some previous experience in working for a builder’s merchant and computer literacy would be preferable, but not essential. This is a key customer facing role, so you just need the ability to provide great customer service, we can teach you the rest.

Ferring Country Centre is an independent charity which provides a day care service for adults with learning disabilities. In addition to our day service, our Visitor Centre, comprising our Café and Gift Shop, is open to the general public seven days a week.

As a Customer Assistant (Weekends) you will provide a friendly welcome, professional service and excellent customer care. You will work across both the Ranger’s Café and Gift Shop team to help deliver a memorable customer experience.

We have two opportunities available:

· 6 hours per week, working Saturday and Sunday 11.00am to 2.00pm (with overtime opportunities).

Or

· 8 hours per week, working Saturday and Sunday 10.30am to 2.30pm (with overtime opportunities).

· Using electronic point of sale system to process customers’ orders in an efficient, timely manner.

· Responding to customer queries either face-to-face or on the telephone.

· Assist with the smooth running of the café as directed by Line Manager, including washing up and clearing tables.
